Abstract

저자는 1981년 1월부터 1989년 8월까지 서울대학교 치과대학 부속병원에 내원한 환자 85
명 87례의 잔유 낭종을 임상 방사선학적 소견을 조사 연구하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 잔유 낭종은 40대에서 27 1%로 가장 호발하였고 31-50세 사이에서 50.6% 발생하였다.
성별 분포를 보면 남성이 55.3%로 여성에 비하여 다소 높은 분포를 보였다.
2. 환자의 87.5%에서 배농, 동통, 부종과 같은 증상이 나타났으며 12.5%에서는 증상이 없
었다.
3. 발생부위는 상악 전치부 46.0%, 상악 구치부 18.4%, 하악 구치부 17.2%이었으며 상악
이 70.1%로 하악보다 거의 2배 이상 빈발하였다.
4. 잔유 낭종은 대부분 단방성이었으며, 낭종의 경계는 대부분 명확하고 평활하였다.
5. 잔유 낭종에 인접한 치아의 치근을 흡수시킨 경우가 14.9%였으며, 주변치아를 이개시
킨 경우가 18.4%였다.
6. 비강을 침범한 경우가 22.5%, 상악동을 침범한 경우가 19.4%, 하치조관을 침범한 경우
가 11.8%였으며 상악결절을 침범한 경우도 1례 발견되었다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate on the clinical and radiographic patterns of
residual cyst of the jaw for early diagnosis and treatment.
The auther studied 87 cases of residual cyst with regard to age, sex distribution, the
site of the lesion and several radiographic features.
The results were as follows :
1. The average age was found to be 42,6 years, with a range of 15 to 84 years.
The incidence was highest in the third and fourth decades (50.6%) and total 87 cases
consist of 47 males and 38 females.
2. The common clinical symptoms were pus discharge, swelling, pain and no
symptoms was presented in 5 cases (12.5%).
3. Residual cysts were found to be 46.0% maxillary anterior region, 18.4% maxillary
molar region, 17.2% mandibular molar region and to be more common in the maxilla
(70.1%) than in the mandible (29.9%).
4. Most of residual cysts were unilocular type (86 cases, 98.8%), showing distinct
border (62 cases, 71.3%) with smooth margin (78 cases, 89.7%).
5. The adjacent teeth showed root resorption in 13 cases (14.9%), and root divergence
in 16 cases (18.4%).
6. The residual cysts extended to the nasal fossa (22 rases, 22.5%), the maxillary
sinus (19 cases, 19.4%) and caused the displacement of the mandibular canal wall (11
cases, 11.2%).
